Prayer

To pray is to make our hearts ready to experience the love of God in Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit. Prayer opens us more deeply to the transforming grace of God.

With words or silence, with stillness or action, alone or with others, we encourage you to pray in whatever way you feel comfortable.

Intercession

In our worship, we gather to join our prayers together in petition for the needs of the Church and the world, and for all who are in need. All Christians are called to share in the ministry of Christ’s intercession for the whole world.

We often pray with language which comes from the Bible and from the texts of our liturgy. But we knit together these words and images with ideas which come from our own hearts and from the communities in which we pray.

If you would like us to remember you in prayer, or to speak to and pray with a priest privately, please email Fr Calebmark at All Saints, Fr Matt at St Nick’s, or contact the office at hello@poplar.church

Remembrance

Bringing to mind family and friends who have died can be very painful, especially if the bereavement is recent.

In liturgical celebrations, however, remembrance is not just about looking back to the past but also looking ahead to the future in trust and hope.

Just as our loved one shared in Christ’s death in baptism, we believe he or she will share in Christ’s resurrection and enjoy eternal life in God’s presence.

We specifically hold the names of the departed before God during mass at noon on Tuesdays at All Saints, and on Sunday mornings at St Nick’s. If there is a name that you would like us to include, please email hello@poplar.church

Morning &
Evening Prayer

Morning Prayer lasts 15-20 minutes: a calm and holy start to the day, including Psalms, readings and prayers.

Join us at 8.30am on Thursdays and 9.15am on Sundays at All Saints, or 8.30am on Wednesdays and Fridays at St Nick’s.

You can also join Morning Prayer online on Zoom at 9.30am Tuesday-Friday. To join, please contact Fr Matt.

Morning Prayer on Sundays at All Saints is often enriched with music, through monthly services of Choral Mattins and Mini Mattins. Choral Evensong is also offered at least monthly.

Prayer Ministry

And whatever you ask in my name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

Prayer Ministry takes place in the All Saints Crypt every Friday at 7pm. This is an informal service, offering an open-heaven encounter with God, where healing, wholeness and solutions are possible.
